A brand new Beatles documentary is to be produced by Oscar winning director Martin Scorsese, as we celebrate 60 years of Beatlemania.
The documentary titled, ‘Beatles 64’, will explore the band’s arrival at Kennedy Airport in New York City on 7 February 1964.
‘Beatles 64’ will feature newly filmed interviews with Beatles pair Paul McCartney and Ringo as the documentary takes an intimate look at their story, capturing the camaraderie of the Fab Four, including the late George Harrison and John Lennon.
It will also take a look at the band’s debut performance on The Ed Sullivan Show, which attracted over 73 million viewers.
Rare footage will also be included in this documentary from the Beatles’ first US show at the Washington Coliseum.
Martin Scorsese
As mentioned, Beatles 64 will be produced by Martin Scorsese, who had previously directed George Harrison: Living In The Material World, which looked at the life and music of the late musician.
The film will also be produced by Margaret Bodde, Mikaela Beardsley, and Jonathan Clyde, as well as directed by Dave Tedeschi.
Rick Horn and Jeff Jones will serve as executive producers.
Beatles 64 will be available to stream from November 29 on Disney+.
This documentary will also be released a day after another Beatles’ doc, ‘1964’ is released to Apple TV. Find out more on this here.
