Ahead of their reissue of their 1987 collection The $5.98 EP – Garage Days Re-Revisited. Metallica are streaming two covers from said EP before the official release date this coming Friday the 13th (gulp).
Budgie’s ‘Crash Course In Brain Surgery’ released in 1974 and ‘The Wait’ taken from Killing Joke’s 1980 self titled debut album both get the Metallica once over. The two remastered tracks are available to listen to below. At the bottom of the page is Killing Joke’s original version of ‘The Wait’ to contrast and compare.
Keeping with the 8O’s theme the band have said of that. ‘the remastered EP will not only be released as a CD and download, but also as several vinyl versions including a picture disc, as a cassette, and in a longbox (you youngsters can search the web for that term!).’
