Metallica's James Hetfield has spoken about the band's plan for the next couple of years.

Metallica, who just released their tenth studio album, 'Hardwired... To Self Destruct' this month are yet to announce details of a world tour. However, the band currently have 14 live shows confirmed up until April 2017.

Speaking to Linea Rock about the band's plan, Hetfield said “We’ve booked out two years, at least,”  he added, “so, I can’t predict the future, but we start there and hopefully there’s more than that.”

'Hardwired... To Self Destruct' was the band's first album since 2008's 'Death Magnetic', but fans shouldn't worry about waiting another eight years for more new material, “And I would like to make some new music sooner than eight years, for sure,” Hetfield continued, “There’s such a pleasure and a joy of hearing your new music and having other people hear it. So we don’t wanna wait that long.”

Meanwhile, the band recently appeared on Jimmy Fallon's late night show in America to promote their new album. With some help from Jimmy Fallon and his in-house band 'The Roots', they performed their classic song 'Enter Sandman' while playing on children's toy instruments.
