Mick Fleetwood has said that he wants former bandmates Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham to "pal up a bit more".
Nicks and Buckingham joined Fleetwood Mac on New Year's Eve 1974, having dated between 1972 and 1976. Despite continuing to perform together after they broke up, the pair had somewhat of a tumultuous relationship.
Lindsey Buckingham originally left Fleetwood Mac in 1987, with Nicks departing in 1990. Following their return to the fray in 1997, Lindsey Buckingham was fired from the band in 2018, after his working relationship with Nicks broke down.
The guitarist was replace by Mike Campbell of the Heartbreakers, and Crowded House's Neill Finn.
Speaking last October, Stevie Nicks had claimed that she gave Buckingham "300 million chances" in the band. More on this from Nova.
In a new interview, Mick Fleetwood said that he still holds out hope that Buckingham and Nicks will put their differences aside and reunite.
"I always have a fantasy that (Stevie) and Lindsey would pal up a bit more and just say everything's OK for them both," he admitted. "But we've had such an incredible career".
The Fleetwood Mac co founder had previously stated that he would love to see a "healing" between the pair.
"It's no secret, it's no tittle-tattle that there is a brick wall there emotionally," he said at the time. "Stevie's able to speak clearly about how she feels and doesn't feel, as does Lindsey".
Fleetwood added, "But I'll say, personally, I would love to see a healing between them - and that doesn't have to take the shape of a tour, necessarily".
