Mick Jagger’s girlfriend Melanie Hamrick has defended the couple’s noticeable age gap.
Former ballerina Hamrick is in a relationship with the musician, having first met backstage at a Rolling Stones in Japan in 2014.
Despite being 44 years his junior, Melanie Hamrick has insisted that this is not an issue for the couple.
“I don’t think about it. Everyone’s going to have their opinion,” Hamrick said in a recent interview. “If you think about others’ opinions, no matter where you are in life, you’re going to have a problem, and you’re going to analyse it”.
She added: “Am I happy? Yes. Are the people in my life happy? Yes. Am I hurting anyone? No. OK, they can mind their own business”.

In 2016, Mick Jagger and Melanie Hamrick welcomed a son Deveraux ‘Devi’ Octavian Basil Jagger.
The couple began dating a few months after Mick Jagger’s previous partner L’Wren Scott who was a designer, died by suicide in March 2016.
The couple’s son is also the musician’s eighth child by a fifth partner.
Mick Jagger’s seven other children include Elizabeth, James, Georgia and Gabriel with Jerry Hall, as well as daughter Karis with actor Marsha Hunt, daughter Jade with ex wife Bianca Jagger, as well as son Lucas with Luciana Gimenez Morad.
