A wall of Pop Art featuring works by Andy Warhol worth €1m is set to feature at Ireland’s premier art fair Art Source, at the RDS from November 9-11.
Gormleys Fine Art will be showing the largest selection of Warhol works displayed in this country in a 12-piece collection of American Pop Art with a combined worth into seven figures.
The Pop Art wall will feature a rare iconic collection of Ingrid Bergman prints by Andy Warhol as well as works by Roy Lichtenstein, Tom Wesselmann, Robert Indiana and Jean Michelle Basquait.
The complete and rare Bergman portfolio consists of Herself (€60,000), Bergman with Hat (€85,000) and Ingrid The Nun (€40,000).
Gormley’s will also display a rare Warhol screenprint of Beethoven valued at €140,000. Over 15,000 people are expected to view exhibits from artists across all genres at the biggest art event of the year.
Among the artists featured at Art Source is Irish Pop Art sensation Cavanagh Foyle, an aviation lawyer who is fast gaining an international following for her provocative and colourful mixed media paintings.
The show will feature a decade of live music display from renowned music photographer, Dubliner Ruth Medjber, who has just finished Arcade Fire’s European Tour and has been signed up to shoot Glastonbury for the BBC.
Among the featured artists will be Grace Jones, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jay Z, LCD Soundsystem, Garbage, Prodigy and St Vincent.
Art Source takes place at the RDS, Dublin, from November 9-11, admission is €10 adults, €8 OAPs. Children under 16 free only if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
