Bad news for Motörhead fans: the band have cancelled their European tour due to Lemmy's poor health.

The tour, which was due to kick off next month, was originally scheduled to begin last November but was postponed as the band hoped Lemmy would be well enough to hit the road in 2014.

However, today a statement on www.imotorhead.com says: "it is with great regret that Motörhead has to announce the cancellation of their European tour, scheduled to start February, 2014... No-one is hurting more over this than Lemmy, and he feels the aggravation and inconvenience of every ticket, and every method of transportation, already paid for by loyal fans in anticipation of the tour."

The good news, though is the outlook for Lemmy's health is "very good", with fans being assured he's "continuing on the road to full recovery".
