Two former members of Motorhead missed the funeral of rock and roll icon Lemmy. Both Phil Campbell & ‘Fast’ Eddie Clarke were unable to make it to the funeral.
The two of them would later reveal why they missed the service via social media. Among those in attendance at the funeral were rock legends such as Dave Grohl, Josh Homme, Slash and Duff McKagan. Former professional wrestler HHH was also at the funeral.
The funeral took place in Hollywood, California at the Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery on Saturday January 9th. The funeral was reserved for close family and friends only.
Both Phil Campbell and Eddie Clarke were unable to make it to the funeral. Clarke later revealed that he didn’t make it because the U.S. wouldn’t hand him a Visa to travel due to his past sins and said that it takes longer for him to obtain a visa.
Phil Campbell couldn’t make it for health reasons on the other hand. Campbell tweeted “I really wanted to attend but I wasn’t able to make it, Unfortunately I was advised on doctors orders not to fly on such a long haul flight due to my recent hospitalisation.”
Campbell later tweeted that he was able to watch Lemmy’s funeral online like countless other fans. He tweeted “Amazing service for Lem the other day, everyone there spoke beautifully. I really wanted to attend but I wasn’t able to make it…”
