Met Éireann have issued a status yellow weather warning for hailstones this afternoon which will affect most of the country.
The warning is mainly in effect between 12pm and 3pm, and is deemed to cause dangerous driving conditions for motorists due to the unpredictable and localised nature of hailstones.
The Road Safety Authority have produced a short information video offering simple but effective advice on what to do if you encounter a sudden shower of hailstones while driving.
If you find yourself driving - make sure to reduce speed without breaking, warn other drivers with you hazard lights, and try to avoid sudden steering movements or breaking suddenly.
