In anticipation of the release of their new album Drones, Muse have released a new track titled ‘The Handler’. It is the fifth track to be released off the new album after ‘Psycho’, ‘Mercy’, ‘Reapers’ and ‘Dead Inside’.
Muse have gone back to their roots on this album and compared to their previous album The 2nd Law it is less electronically focused. Their new album sees the return of their heavy rock riffs and pounding drums from classic’s like ‘New Born’
Frontman Matt Bellamy recently described the album as “a move towards being more human, rather than technology-based”. Bellamy also spoke about his visit to the White House and speaking with former Secretary of State Colin Powell. Bellamy’s visit had a big impact on the album and much of the album’s themes revolve around security and technology.
Speaking about his personal life and how it influenced the album, Bellamy said it “was quite difficult for me to make at certain points. My personal life went through a bit of a shift”, referring to his split from actress Kate Hudson.
