Current PDC World Championship holder, Michael van Gerwen had a last minute survival which saw him book his place in the quarter-final of the William Hill PDC World Championship.
The darts supremo defeated Gerwyn Price 4-2 at Alexandra Palace, but not without a stern challenge presented before him.
The Dutchman left it all to play for when he came up against his Welsh counterpart, as 32-year-old Price took the win in the third set and the first leg of the fourth.
Not my best performance but very happy to get the job done and really looking forward to the quarter-final against @Raybar180 – Fair play to @Gezzyprice – he kept fighting to the end.

Nonetheless, he failed to put away his chance when he missed out on the opportunity to take the first leg of the fifth set from champion MVG.
MVG held his composure – finishing off the world number 16 in the sixth set and booking his place in the quarter final versus frequent rival Raymond van Barneveld.
