My Chemical Romance have paid a moving tribute to their late drummer Bob Bryar, who died last week aged 44.

Replacing their original drummer Matt Pelissier, Bob Bryar had served as drummer with the band, from 2004, before leaving in 2010. He was their longest serving drummer.

The musician was found dead at his home in Tennessee on November 26, having last been seen alive three weeks earlier.

His cause of death has yet to be confirmed, but the police have not ruled out foul play, having found his musical equipment and weapons, untouched.

“a heavy heart”

Paying tribute to Bryar, surviving bandmates from My Chemical Romance shared this sweet message.

“It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Bob Bryar, our former bandmate and an important part of the history of My Chemical Romance”, the said. “We send our deepest condolences to his friends and family at this time. May he rest in peace”.

Bryar’s contributions can be heard on the band’s 2006 album, ‘The Black Parade’, their most commercially and critically successful release.

The album debuted at No 2 in the USA Billboard 200, and the UK Albums Chart.

He joined the band after striking up a friendship with them at their tour ‘The Used’ in Japan in 2004.

Back in 2022, My Chemical Romance also paid tribute to their producer Doug McKean, who passed away aged 54. More on this from Nova here.
