It would appear that there could be a new album on the horizon for the Rolling Stones, following the emergence of photographs showing drummer Steve Jordan working on a new album, alongside Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood.
Snaps showing band members Mick Jagger and Keith Richards coming in and out of the Electric Lady Studios over the last few days, have also been circulated.
Back in August, Keith Richards had stated that he hoped the band would be releasing new material by the end of this year. He said that he hopes to “have recorded some stuff by the end of the year”.
“Anyway, I just make records and then we figure out how they come out, right? That’s what I do”, he added.
Documentary To Be Released About Rolling Stones Bassist
News regarding new Rolling Stones music comes just days after it was announced that a documentary regarding the life and career of bassist Darryl Jones is to be released.
The documentary which is titled Darryl Jones: In The Blood, will feature interviews from all members of the Rolling Stones, including the late Charlie Watts, in what turned out to be on of his last televised chats.
“In a band you have to get on with everyone, really,” Watts says in the film. “And Darryl is one of those people who – he’s very easy to work with and very pleasant to be around”.
“He’s one of the best bass players in the world,” Keith Richards can also be heard saying of Jones. “He played with Miles Davis for five years, and that’s no mean resume, you know?”.
The Rolling Stones documentary will be directed by Eric Hamburg.
“It’s not an easy thing to replace someone who is a founding member of a band like the Stones. And yet Darryl was able to do it. I don’t know if they could have gone on for the last 30 years if they hadn’t had Darryl Jones playing with them”, he said.
