Approval has been given for the Ringsend BusConnects corridor in Dublin.

The route will link the City Centre with the Ringsend area, and has got the green light from planning body, An Bord Pleanála.

This approval marks a big step forward in the BusConnects project, which aims to transform Dublin’s public transport network.

The Ringsend route is the seventh core bus corridor to be approved.

One of the most notable features of the Ringsend corridor is the inclusion of a new public transport and cycling bridge in Dublin’s Docklands.

This bridge will be built at the end of the south quays and will run perpendicular to the Tom Clarke East Link Bridge.

The Ringsend BusConnects corridor is part of a larger effort to overhaul Dublin’s bus network, making it more efficient, reliable, and sustainable.

Construction on the new bridge and other elements of the corridor is expected to begin soon, with the aim of having the route operational within the next few years.
