US media reports the number killed in what the FBI are investigating as an act of terrorism in New Orleans, has risen to 15.
A driver crashed a pick up truck into pedestrians in the state of Louisiana on new years eve.
The man named as 42 year old Shamsud Din Jabbar, was a citizen of Texas. He himself was killed after opening fire at Police.
During searches, Police found an ISIS flag on the back of the pickup truck.
Investigators are also probing that he may have had help from up to four people, as explosive devices were found.
Authorities in Houston, Texas have been carrying out searches at a location in the city. No arrests have been made yet.
US President Joe Biden gave an address last night, in which he said the suspect in the New Orleans attack was "inspired by Islamic State".
He said Shamsud-Din Jabbar posted a video on social media and had a "desire to kill" before he drove a pick-up truck through a crowd of people celebrating the new year on Bourbon Street.
However the incoming President, Donald Trump has slammed authorities for not doing their jobs.
In a post on Truth Social, the president-elect said the country was a "disaster" and a "laughing stock all over the world".
While he didn't mention Wednesday's attack specifically, he said the Department of Justice and FBI have "not done their job" of protecting Americans.
"The USA is breaking down. A violent erosion of safety, national security, and democracy is taking place all across our nation. Only strength and powerful leadership will stop it."
