Noel Gallagher has said that he would love an Oasis hologram show after watching ABBA's 'Voyage' concert.
The 'Dancing Queen' hitmakers shocked the world with a surprise return to the music charts in 2021, as well as a show with de-aged digital holograms of ABBA bandmembers.
This was also backed by a live 10-piece band playing over vocals originally recorded in the 1970s and 1980s.
That November, it emerged that ABBA's new album had outsold the rest of the UK Top 40 Albums combined. It also featured singles “Don’t Shut Me Down” and “I Still Have Faith In You”. They also released the single “Just A Notion”. More on this here.
Speaking on Matt Morgan's podcast, Noel Gallagher praised ABBA's hologram show, saying that would "bang up" for a similar Oasis hologram show, inspired by the Swedish band.
“I went to see that Abba show. Have you been? It’s f****** unbelievable.” It was great – an hour and a half gig. It was very, very impressive. I genuinely thought at one point that the people on the stage, which were holograms, were… they looked that real that I thought they were actors, like playing", Gallagher said.
"The way they walk to the stage is so realistic. If you ever get the chance to go, it’s well worth it".
The former Oasis guitarist continued, “I was very impressed by it to be honest but yeah, if anybody wants to do an Oasis one, give us a shout. I would be bang up for it. I’d say ‘great’, speak to that guy over there and then come up with a figure and then he’ll relay it to me and I’ll say either yes or no".
When asked by Morgan if fans would find the hologram experience a bit "hollow", Gallagher replied, “Well y’know, you never get to see the band so how much do you want it?".
Last week, Noel Gallagher joined the Black Keys on stage at London's Brixton Academy.
