Radio Nova has achieved its highest market share to date in the latest JNLR radio ratings. The station is the only Dublin music radio operation to have increased its share of listening in the latest survey and now claims to have 63% the market share of 98FM, 65% of Today FM, 71% of 2FM, and more than half that of Spin 1038 in Dublin.*
The latest figures cover the period July 2012 to June 2013 and show that the relatively young radio station continues to grow at a steady pace.
The station has now scored significant gains against many of its commercial rivals, building on a solid performance since its launch.
Pointing to the latest results, CEO Kevin Branigan said, “Market share is one of the most valuable measurements of listener engagement; we’re very happy to have grown our share at a time when the share of the other Dublin music stations is static or falling. The Dublin radio market is extremely competitive and share is hard won”, he said.
Nova now enjoys 6.3% market share of 20-44s and 6.6% of 35-44s in Dublin. *
Radio Nova broadcasts to Dublin city, county and commuter belt, including Wicklow, Kildare and Meath. The station is backed by businessmen Dermot Hanrahan, Des Whelan and Maurice Cassidy as well as radio investors Kevin Branigan and Mike Ormonde. The station offers a diet of ‘guitar-based’ music from The Killers, Coldplay, The Kings of Leon and the Foo Fighters to David Bowie, The Rolling Stones and Fleetwood Mac. It employs a team of 44 full and part-time at its base in the Dublin Docklands.
