Oasis fans have called on Liam Gallagher to keep a promise that he made about reuniting the band, following Manchester City's maiden Champions League triumph over the weekend.

A second half strike from Spanish midfielder Rodri secured a 1-0 victory for the Blues, securing their first ever Champions League triumph, which was also helped by some late heroics from goalkeeper Ederson.

This victory also saw Manchester City become only the second side to win the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in the same season.

"bring back the f***** band"

Ahead of Saturday's final, Liam Gallagher pledged to reunite Oasis should his beloved Man City emerge victorious.

“If Man City wins the Champions League i call my brother and i bring back the fuckin band together LG x", the former frontman tweeted.

Following Man City's win, fans have been calling on Liam Gallagher to walk the walk and reunite the band as promised.

“Come on [Liam Gallagher] – do you keep your promises?", one fan wrote.

Referring to Noel Gallagher's US Tour, another account joked, “Anyone got the dialling code for San Diego?”.

Noel himself, was unable to attend the showpiece in Istanbul due to his touring committments.

“I won’t be in Istanbul – I always make sure the dates around the Champions League are free and usually that’s always around the end of May. What wasn’t factored in was the World Cup and the knock-on effect", Gallagher told the official club's website.

“I’m contractually obliged to play the gig no matter what and I’m OK with that – I will watch the game in a San Diego bar. If City win and [Erling] Haaland scores a hat-trick I’ll be going on in my underpants".

Earlier this month, Liam Gallagher joked that his brother looks like "Ric Flair" in response to calls from Noel to get in touch with him if he wants to reform Oasis. More on this here.

Elsewhere, Liam Gallagher also confirmed that his performance at Knebworth last year, would also be made into a live album. There is also more here.
