Celebrity Traitors fans are going wild after a certain Mancunian singer revealed they had been asked to take part in the next series of the hit BBC show.

It has been Traitors-mania in recent months, with RTÉ launching their own iconic version, Maura Higgins appearing on the US version, and Irish actor Ruth Codd appearing on the UK celeb version.

Codd appeared on the debut season of the celebrity reality show, which saw comedian Alan Carr as the eventual winner.

Following the success of the show, a second season has already been greenlit by the BBC, with speculation rife as to who the next batch of big names.

One huge star who has teased a potential appearance on the show is Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher, who confirmed on X that he had been asked to participate.

The admission came after a fan asked: ‘Liam would you go on the traitors if they asked?’

The 53-year-old responded: ‘I’ve been asked.’

‘You’d make a great traitor,’ the fan replied, ‘Omg you got to do it!!’

Another responded: ‘And what’d you say? WELL DO IT what’s holding you back, don’t be boring.’

Elsewhere, another fan shared: ‘Just heard @liamgallagher could be on celebrity traitors if this is true would be the best thing ever praying it is lol [laugh out loud].’

Another major name tipped to enter the castle for the second season is former Eastenders star Danny Dyer, who was asked for the debut season and turned it down.

The Daily Mail report that the actor and presenter has since ‘changed his tune’ after seeing how the first season played out.

‘Danny was always top of the wishlist,’ a source told the publication, ‘Danny is a reality TV booker’s dream signing and will be incredible value, as he’s naturally funny but in a totally different way to Alan Carr.’

Other names currently spinning around in the rumour mill include This Morning’s Alison Hammond, and Ruth Jones of Gavin and Stacey fame.
