Met Éireann have released a status orange weather warning for the entire country due to the alarming level of fog.
The National Forecaster have issued the warning citing very poor visibility, believing it will linger in many inland areas this afternoon and will become ‘more extensive and dense’ this evening and for a time tonight.
Therefore they are leaving the warning in place from 12pm this afternoon, Thursday, January 11th until Friday, January 12th at 2am.

Adding to their warnings, they have also issued a status yellow rainfall warning for five counties.
Galway, Mayo, Clare, Cork and Kerry are to expect heavy rainfall tomorrow afternoon which will continue into Saturday.
Members of the public are asked to be vigilant when out and about, while drivers especially are asked to take care on the roads.
