Ozzy Osbourne has said that he would be “open” to using AI generated guitar riffs, inspired by the late Randy Rhoads in his solo material.
Rhoads who co founded the band Quiet Riot, also co-wrote Osbourne’s first two solo albums ‘Blizzard Of Oz’, and ‘Diary Of A Madman’.
Former Black Sabbath singer Ozzy Osbourne had previously said that he hopes to create a new album next year.
“haven’t considered it yet”
On a new episode of ‘The Osbournes’ podcast, Ozzy Osbourne spoke about the possibility of using AI when sharing any future Rhoads recordings.
“I haven’t considered it yet, but as far as me doing something like what the remaining Beatles did with the John Lennon thing… that was a partial song and they cleaned the track up. I don’t think I have anything left of Randy Rhoads”, Ozzy said.
At this point, Ozzy Osbourne’s son Jack said that modern technology does make it possible for AI to produce new guitar riffs inspired by Rhoads’ music.
“Well, you know what? I’m open for anything, if it was good quality,” Ozzy stated. “’Cause, let’s face it, that Beatles thing, Now And Then, wasn’t a Beatles song; it was a John Lennon song”.
“The thing with AI, you can go, ‘Make me a new album.’ […] But that’s the future. The music scene’s gonna be completely different”.
Elsewhere, Ozzy also denied that the prospect of A.I-generated music makes him worry about the industry’s future.
“The cat’s out of the bag”, he added. “You can’t undo it. The danger is people will misuse it. Because I’ll get like a formula for a song and I’ll put that formula in and I’ll keep on doing that”.
While he may be open to the idea of AI in his future solo material, Ozzy Osbourne was certain over one thing, and that is that a TV reboot of ‘The Osbournes’ would not be happening.
