Patti Smith Announces 50th Anniversary ‘Horses’ Tour

Loading

Patti Smith has unveiled plans for a 50th-anniversary tour celebrating her seminal 1975 album Horses, marking half a century since the record first redefined the landscape of punk and poetry.

The tour begins on October 6 in Dublin, before moving through major European and U.K. cities, then heading to the U.S. on November 10, with stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C., and more before concluding in Philadelphia on November 29.

In a rare and fitting tribute, Smith will perform Horses in its entirety at each stop, joined by two of her longest-serving collaborators: Lenny Kaye (guitar) and Jay Dee Daugherty (drums)—both of whom played on the original album.

"Please join us to help celebrate the final ride of our irreverent thoroughbred," reads an official statement via Rolling Stone.

Fans eager to witness this milestone tour can access pre-sale tickets on February 12, with general sales opening on February 14.

A full list of dates is included below.

This announcement comes just two weeks after Smith collapsed onstage during a performance in Brazil. She swiftly reassured fans that the episode was nothing serious, attributing it to the aftereffects of a migraine.

"I was checked out by an excellent doctor and was absolutely fine," she clarified on Instagram. "Please do not accept any other account. With all the strife in the world, this explainable incident does not merit so much attention."

Smith’s Horses remains one of the defining albums of the 20th century, and this tour promises to be a momentous farewell to a record that continues to inspire.
