Paul McCartney has confirmed dates for his first Australian Tour in 6 years.

Marking his first tour Down Under since 2017, McCartney confirmed the dates for his upcoming show, which will run for six shows across October and November.

Tickets for these shows will go on pre-sale next week (9 August), before going on general sale from August 11 via Frontier Touring. You can also buy tickets for the Newcastle and Melbourne shows via Ticketmaster.

These shows will also mark Paul McCartney's first live performances since last year's Glastonbury festival.

"G'day Australia"

Confirming the news over the gigs, Paul McCartney had this to say.

“Hey, G’day Australia. Paul McCartney here, I’m coming down to see you in October with my ‘Got Back’ tour. Haven’t been back since 2017, very excited to come down and see all you Aussies", the Beatles icon said via a YouTube announcement video.

He also added, “We’re going to have a great time, it’s going to be really special and we’re going to rock. So come on down, see you then".

Check out the video and tour dates in full below.

Paul McCartney ‘Got Back’ tour dates are:

October 18 – Adelaide – Entertainment Centre
October 21 – Melbourne – Marvel Stadium
October 24 – Newcastle – McDonald Jones
October 27 – Sydney – Allianz Stadium
November 01 – Brisbane – Suncorp Stadium
November 11 – Gold Coast – Heritage Bank Stadium

News of his tour has come just weeks after Paul McCartney also announced plans to launch his own podcast ‘McCartney: A Life In Lyrics’.

The show will share the singer's stories behind some of his tracks, including material released with The Beatles, Wings, and his solo career.

The podcast's opening season kicks of on September 20, and will see McCartney speaking to poet Paul Muldoon.

Muldoon wrote the forward for the Beatles' legend's bestseller 'The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present’. You can check out more on this from Nova here.
