Paul McCartney has confirmed plans to work on a new solo album.

The music icon confirmed this news via a Q&A, which was published on his official website on Sunday (December 22), having finished off his UK 'Got Back' tour last week.

McCartney has said that he will "finish" the LP next year.

McCartney Confirms New Album Plans

In this Q&A, a fan asked McCartney: "Do you have any New Year's resolutions for 2025?".

"Here's one: finish an album! I've been working on a lot of songs and have had to put it to the side because of the tour", McCartney replied. "So, I'm hoping to get back into that and finish up a lot of these songs. So, how's about that? 'My New Year's resolution is to finish a new album!' How about that for a teaser? You can do it, Paul!".

Should this album arrive next year, this would mark Paul McCartney's first release since 'McCartney III' in 2020.

McCartney's final concert from his 'Got Back' Tour, alsosaw former Top Gear host James May "co-performing" at the show at London's 02.

More on this here.

At this final show in London, Paul McCartney was also joined on stage by two very special guests in the shape of former Beatles bandmate Ringo Starr, and Rolling Stones' Ronnie Wood.

The show also saw McCartney treat his audience to a live performance of 'Get Back', which also featured his old bass guitar, that was returned to him earlier this year, having been stolen 50 years earlier.

Check out footage of these special performances via Nova's report here.
