Andrew Scott has said that his All of Us Strangers co-star Paul Mescal would make a 'Bond'.

Back in April, the Maynooth native entered a list of possible candidates who could become the next James Bond, including Cillian Murphy, Colin Farrell, Tom Hardy, and others.

According to those odds, Mescals was tipped 40/1 to become the next James Bond, with Henry Cavill and Aaron Taylor-Johnson joint favourites for the iconic role, standing at identical odds of 5/2. More on this here.

"a great James Bond"

Andrew Scott is starring alongside Mescal in All Of Us Strangers, which airs in the New Year, and has said that he could see his colleague replacing Daniel Craig as the famous 007 spy.

At the weekend, Scott attended a special screening of 'All Of Us Strangers', when he spoke about his fellow co-star's chances of taking up the role.

"He'd probably be a great James Bond", Scott said. "I want to see him in Gladiator first".

Meanwhile, Paul Mescal was unable to attend the screen, as he is currently filming the Gladiator sequel in Malta.

Scott also revealed that he received photos from Mescal from the set in Malta.

"It's gonna be incredible," exclaimed Scott. "It’s so exciting. I’ve seen some images that are going to delight the world over".

"freestyle"

On working with Paul Mescal, Andrew Scott also said that the pair have great chemistry while working on set.

"We knew each other a little before, just the right amount," he said.

"We want to have that freestyle. We wanted that sexy feeling that when people who don’t sort of know each other and gradually as the story goes on they become more comfortable with each other…And we both really admire each other’s work so much so it was really really easy".

Based on 'Strangers', the 1987 Taichi Yamada novel;  'All Of Us Strangers', is also due to hit Irish cinemas on 26 January next year.
