The son of pop-icon Phil Collins has been charged with possession of cocaine in Killarney, Co. Kerry.

44-year-old Simon Collins of Greenane Cottages, Templenoe, Blackwater is facing one charge, following an alleged incident in Derrycunnihy, Killarney in January of last year.

Simon Collins faced one summons in Killarney District Court, which was sitting in Tralee Courthouse. Mr. Collins was not required to appear in court today.

It's alleged that he, on January 18th, 2020 at Derrycunnihy, Killarney had possession of cocaine, contrary to the Misuse of Drugs Act.

John Cashell, solicitor for Mr Collins, said his client will be pleading not guilty and the case will be contested.

Mr Cashell also sought all documents relating to the case. Judge David Waters granted the order and adjourned the case until April 20th.
