Ozzy Osbourne recently made a new ad in support of his feline friends. The advertisement is for Peta and the message is telling people not to declaw their cats.

The legendary rock icon is pictured with his fingers amputated and bloody, giving an idea of what actually happens to your cat when they get declawed. The tagline reads, “Never Declaw a Cat. It’s an Amputation, Not a Manicure.”

According to a report from COS, a press release issued by PETA explained, “When cats are declawed, their claws and part of their toes are amputated.

Veterinarians equate declawing with cutting off the last bone in a human’s finger, often causing nerve damage, infection, and immense pain.”

Ozzy revealed his own personal experience when in 2018 he almost lost part of his fingers as a result of a staph infection in his hand.

Ozzy said in a statement via Peta, “Amputating a cat’s toes is twisted and wrong,” adding “If your couch is more important to you than your cat’s health and happiness, you don’t deserve to have an animal! Get cats a scratching post — don’t mutilate them for life.”Check out Ozzy Osbourne’s PETA ad below.

Ozzy’s recent emotional revelation that he is battling Parkinson’s disease, diagnosed after a fall, forced him to cancel his remaining tour dates last year.

However, he is scheduled to return to the road this year, if he’s “well enough.” So as of now, Ozzy’s North American tour kicks off in late May, with a European outing set to follow in October. Ozzy will also release his first solo LP in 10 years next month. The album, Ordinary Man, arrives on February 21st.
