Pearl Jam paid tribute to Chris Cornell during a recent show in Amsterdam, with each band member wearing a band t-shirt from all of the different musical projects that involved the late singer. Check out photos below…
As they performed at the Ziggo Dome, drummer Matt Cameron was seen wearing a t-shirt that featured Cornell’s face in the same design as the Starbucks symbol. It was also shown on screen at one point as the lights were dimmed down. Vicky Cornell has previously hinted at that t-shirt being available for official sale sometime soon.
While all of Pearl Jam’s members have honoured Chris Cornell in their own way, this was the first time that band had made a collective show of solidarity for their fallen friend.
Lead singer Eddie Vedder wore a ‘Nude Dragons’ t-shirt, which was a nod out to the moniker used by Soundgarden for their first 2010 comeback show. Guitarist Mike McCready, meanwhile, was seen wearing an Ultramega OK shirt, honouring Soundgarden’s hallmark debut album.
Before his sudden death in May 2017 aged 52, Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell recorded one of his final songs, which was his contribution to Johnny Cash: Forever Words.
