PictureHouse have just announced the release of an EP, featuring live performances of tracks from the band’s recent set of live shows.
This news comes following the Dublin’s band’s recent announcemet that their show at Dublin’s Liberty Hall would be their last.
The EP features fan favourite tracks including ‘Sing’, Madness, Sadness, Gladness’, ‘Karmarama‘ and ‘Shine Box’. You can listen to the tracks from this EP here.
“leave on a high note”
Speaking recently, the band’s frontman Dave Browne has said that the track ‘Sing’ is the ideal track to give the band the opportunity to “leave on a high note”.
“Before we move on, we wanted to leave on a high note, “Sing” was a song we all loved and we initially recorded it for our best off album but liked it too much and wanted it for the follow up studio album”, he said.
“As fate would have it, the band broke up for 10 years and it didn’t suit the album we made then. It’s great to finally have it out there”.
“There’s only a few tickets left for our show in Liberty Hall Theatre, we can’t wait to see everyone again, it will be an emotional night and we’ve lots of surprised planned”.
Tickets for these shows will also be available here.
PictureHouse are of course renowned for a string of hit singles across a 25 year career. Such hits include ‘Somebody Somehwere’, ‘Everybody Loves My Girl’, ‘Sunburst’, and ‘Heavenly Day’.
Last year also saw PictureHouse’s live recording of a show at Dublin’s Olympia Theatre hit the Irish Album Charts.
