Pirates Of The Caribbean Actor Tamayo Perry Dies Following Shark Attack In Hawaii

Tamayo Perry who appeared in the fourth Pirates Of The Caribbean movie, has been killed in a shark attack in Oahu, Hawaii.

Perry, a lifeguard who also starred in Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle and Blue Crush, died after being attacked by a shark while out surfing near Goat Island yesterday afternoon.

This incident was reported by a caller, saying that they had noticed a man suffering from what appeared to be shark bites.

Mr Perry was taken to shore via jet ski, with paramedics later assisting with the death pronouncement.

Tamayo Perry was a “lifeguard figure loved by all”

Tamayo Perry’s death was confirmed by Honolulu’s emergency services.

Speaking on behalf of the emergency services, Shayne Enright said that Mr Perry began his career as a lifeguard with the Ocean Safety department in July 2016.

He went on to work as a lifeguard on the North Shore.

Perry also appeared as a pirate in the Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, starring Johnny Depp.

Paying tribute to Perry, Acting Honolulu Ocean Safety chief Kurt Lager said that the he was  “a lifeguard loved by all”.

“He’s well known on the North Shore. He’s a professional surfer known worldwide,” Mr Lager said. “Tamayo’s personality was infectious and as much as people loved him, he loved everyone else more”. 

Meanwhile, Honolulu mayor Rick Blangiardi also called Mr Perry’s death “a tragic loss”. He also added: “Tamayo was a legendary waterman and highly respected”. 

Following his death, Ocean Safety posted personal shark warnings in the area.

Following his legal victory in a high profile defamation case taken against ex wife Amber Heard, rumours began to spread that Johnny Depp had been set to return to the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise.
