The Pixies are set to return with a new record in September! It's the eighth overall record for the band after 2016’s Head Carrier.
The band worked on the album throughout 2018 and recording was completed last December at Dreamland studios, New York. Tom Dalgerty of Royal Blood fame was enlisted as producer.
This new record is the second release from this incarnation of particular Pixies’ lineup — Joey Santiago (guitars), Black Francis (vocals/guitars), David Lovering (drums), and Paz Lenchantin (bass/vocals).
As of yet, there's no Pixes single slated for release but fans won’t have to wait too long for a preview of the new record. They have teamed up with Signal Co. No1. They are a New York-based podcast company, to launch a new weekly series documenting the group’s recording process.
The band wish to give fans a glimpse of the enitre process,
“Every episode will document the band’s new music, from its earliest stages through to completion, giving fans the opportunity to witness the evolution of the tracks. Past is Prologue, Pixies” comprises 12 episodes will commence on June 27th. Best-selling author Tony Fletcher will provide narration for the podcast. Check out a trailer below.
