A private jet owned by Mötley Crüe’s Vince Neil was involved in a fatal crash at Scottsdale Airport on Monday afternoon, leaving one dead and three injured—including Neil’s long-time girlfriend, Rain Hannah.
The aircraft reportedly veered off the runway after a landing gear failure, ultimately colliding with a parked business jet. One passenger was killed, while two others remain in critical condition. A fourth individual, believed to be Hannah’s friend, was hospitalized with less severe injuries, while another declined treatment.
Neil himself was not aboard the aircraft at the time.
Mötley Crüe addressed the incident in a statement released via social media:
"Earlier today, a private plane owned by Vince Neil was involved in a crash near Scottsdale, AZ. The pilot was tragically killed; the co-pilot and other passengers were taken to local hospitals. Vince was not on the plane. Vince’s girlfriend and her friend suffered injuries, albeit not life-threatening. While details are still emerging, our hearts go out to both the pilot who lost his life and the passengers who suffered injuries. Mötley Crüe will announce a way to help support the family of the deceased pilot—stand by for an announcement very soon."
The band’s manager, Allen Kovac, confirmed that discussions were already underway about how to support the victims’ families. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Neil told Phoenix’s CBS 5 that the singer’s “thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved” and that he was “grateful for the critical aid of all first responders assisting today.”
This is a developing story, and further updates are expected as authorities continue their investigation into the cause of the crash.
