Police in Las Vegas have reportedly arrested a man in connection with the murder of the iconic rapper Tupac Shakur nearly three decades ago.
The hip-hop legend was shot fours time in a drive by-shooting in Las Vegas in 1996. His killer has remained a mystery.
On Friday morning police in the gambling capital of the world arrested a man over his death, according to sources speaking to AP news agency.
Duane "Keffe D" Davis was arrested early Friday morning, although the exact charge or charges were not immediately clear, according to two officials with first-hand knowledge of the arrest.
They were not authorized to speak publicly ahead of an expected indictment later Friday.
Shakur was only 25 when he died. He died on 13 September 1996, a week after he was shot four times in his car while waiting at a red light.
The death of the rapper, one of the most acclaimed in hip-hop, has inspired several documentaries.
The arrest represents a long-awaited break in a case that has long since frustrated investigators.
