Footage of David Bowie As ‘Ziggy Stardust’
It had been initially feared that this footage was lost forever, as it was not stored by the station.
However, one viewer managed to record this performance, finding it on their computer tape five years ago. It was subsequently included on BBC documentary, David Bowie: The First Five Years – Finding Fame.
Now, new footage from this era has been shared for fans to see for the first time.
Coming from the late singer’s ‘Ziggy Stardust’ UK tour from 1972 and 1973, this tour was also filmed by Mick Rock, late collaborator and photographer of David Bowie.
These clips were released by Parlophone Records, to celebrate the first every Dolby Atmos spatial audio version of Bowie’s album ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars’.
This new mix will be available on Blu-Ray audio on September 6, and can be pre ordered here.
