Previously unseen footage from the iconic album, 'Led Zeppelin III', was uncovered, following a recent sale of items from the estate of the late designer, Zacron.

Zacron, who was born Richard Drew, passed away in 2012. He designed this amazing album cover, which featured six previously unseen pages documenting the progress of this revolving design. It was wrapped in a spinning-wheel, which was modelled on an old crop-rotation chart. It also featured Alesister Crowley quotations carved into the inner vinyl groove.

This previously unearthed cover also included handwritten instructions of how the spinning-wheel would function.

"fitting home"

This artwork was discovered by collector Joseph Robert O'Donnell, who had previously stunned people with one of his earlier discoveries, a piece of leftover toast which had "belonged" to Beatles legend George Harrison. This morsel of food sold for a tidy profit at an auction last month.

After he found these sketches, Mr O'Donnell got in touch with Brian Knapp, a renowned Led Zeppelin collector. The pair soon reached an agreement regarding the sale of these sketches. The price of these sketches was not publicly disclosed.

“I couldn’t think of a more fitting home than Brian’s archive for these significant pieces of history," O'Donnell said on these sketches. "Zacron’s drawings are legendary, as is Brian’s collection".

“Zacron was a very important artist, and his friendship and connection with Led Zeppelin are equally significant to the band’s legacy," Knapp commented. "I am pleased to add these to my collection, which I hope to exhibit at some point in the future".

Back in February, 'Becoming Led Zeppelin', director Bernard McMahon and producer Alison McGourty chatted to our very own Marty Miller from Marty@Work.

The movie itself, at the early childhoods of founding members, Robert Plant Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and the late John Bonham, whose previously discovered an interview from 1972, has resurfaced for the first time. Check this out for more here.
