The yellow Schecter Cloud Guitar which was owned by Prince, has been put up for auction.
This guitar which is under the hammer now, was often used by the late singer during live performances and rehearsals.
The instrument was also used a main part of testing, as it was being a prototype for the Schecter range that Prince had commissioned for general sale.
It is also covered in an unmistakable yellow colour, with symbol inlays, and was reportedly a personal favourite of Prince’s for the cloud.
The guitar also comes with a hard flight case with a soft purple lining, which was purchased by the original owner at a later date and does not belong to Prince himself.
Prince Guitar Made For PRN MUSIC CORP
This guitar was also assigned an inhouse PRN MUSIC CORP serial number of PM 16231. This is displayed along the inside cavity cover on the back of the guitar.
An eye-catching feature of this guitar is the fact that it is a prototype, and does not contain the stamped Schecter serial number below the ‘Diamond Series’ logo on the headstock, as it was built for Prince himself and not for general sale.
It was actually entered into the PRN MUSIC CORP inventory.
The guitar is on sale now at gottahaverockandroll.com, with bidding starting at $60,000. It is predicted to sell for over $100,000.
Back in January, it was confirmed that famous Prince film ‘Purple Rain’ was to be adapted into a Broadway Musical. Producer Orin Wolf confirmed this news.
