Prince‘s unfinished memoir will finally be released this year. According to the NME, the late artist was handwriting the book and it’s called The Beautiful One. The star wrote the book prior to his death in April 2016 having completed a publishing deal.
However, the singer only managed to submit 50 pages before he passed away at the age of 57, two years ago. Esther Newberg, publishing agent, says, Prince had been working with the author Dan Piepenbring on The Beautiful One.

Work on the manuscript was ongoing after the singer’s death. Esther Newberg is now confident that it will be available at the end of 2018 or ‘just in time for holiday season’. The book is likely to feature ‘reproductions of Prince’s longhand pages’. The Beautiful One has been described as depicting ‘an unconventional and poetic journey through [his] life and creative work’.
Newberg revealed that the contract agreement was struck in a way which had ‘never been done before’. The agent explained: “Editors don’t like to be in the same room making their pitches to the same potential clients, We had to do it because I knew [Prince] would not want to meet individually with editors.”
