Pulp have agreed a record deal with Rough Trade, leading to rumours that a new album is on the way.

“Pulp are pleased to announce that they have signed a record deal with Rough Trade Records", a brief press release said.

“Rough Trade have managed Pulp for over 30 years so it feels great to be finally on the label. We did it!".

Pulp Announce 2025 Shows

News of this deal with Rough Trade, comes months after Pulp announced plans to perform at a new festival in Japan next year.

The band will perform at Japan's Rock On Sonic Festival, which takes place at the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall in Chiba, their first live show in 2025.

They will also be joined by Manic Street Preachers, Primal Scream, Wednesday and The Lemon Twigs.

News of this festival also emerged after the band had returned for a set of reunion shows last year.

These shows were originally confirmed by lead singer Jarvis Cocker during a Q&A session at the time.

Jarvis Cocker had also previously shared an intruiging message on Instagram, showing the following words on screen, “What exactly do you do for an encore?”.
