Pulp have topped the UK album charts for the first time in 27 years, they have achieved their spot on the charts with their new release 'More'.

The classic rock band released their new album on the 6th of June, this was their first studio album since the release of 'We Love Life' in 2001, and they have not topped the charts since their album 'This is Hardcore' in 1998. 'More' has also been claimed as the biggest record of the week on wax, topping the Official Vinyl Albums Chart, and is currently sitting at number six in the Irish album chart.

Their recent album was one of the top three albums in the top five this week, as the rock band was followed by Addison Rae's self titled album 'Addison', which is sat at number two on the charts. Little Simz' sixth studio album 'Lotus' has reached number three.

'More' was produced by James Ford, a well known producer for working with artists such as Kylie Minogue, Arctic Monkeys, and Florence and The Machine. Jarvis Cocker explained that the album was recorded in just over three weeks in Walthamstow, London, last November. He stated that "This is the shortest amount of time a Pulp album has ever taken to record.
It was obviously ready to happen."

Pulp reunited for a second time in 2022, as their lead singer Cocker confirmed the news that the band would be touring together again. Throughout the summer they will be playing a number of gigs, with the rock band performing in the 3 Arena just last week.

Friday June 13th saw Pulp play two sold out shows in the O2 Arena, where they celebrated their album reaching number one on the charts. The band was joined by backing singers and a string section as they played their classic tunes, along with tracks from their recent number one album. The frontman took the oppurtunity at this gig to mark the occasion by thanking fans for their support, whilst also dedicating their song 'Farmers Market' to his wife that was in the audience.

The band have a gap in their schedule this summer, between 21st of June and the 10th of July, hopeful fans are speculating that the band will play at this years Glastonbury festival. The frontman reminisced the bands 1995 perfomance at Glastonbury in an interview on BBC Radio 2's breakfast show. The band replaced the Stone Roses, due to John Squire being unable to perform as he shattered his collarbone. This remains as Pulp's most memorable performance in their history. However, Cocker stated that the band was not in talks of recreating history and making a surprise appearance at this years festival, as he stated "If it was a life-or-death situation, but I really don’t think it’s going to happen."
