Radio Nova, the newest radio station for Dublin city, county and the commuter belt due on the air over the summer has today announced the latest addition to its line up.
Nova’s Programme Director has been named as Carol Dooley. Carol is originally from Kilkenny, her career spans 30 years and includes working at radio stations in Dublin and the UK including Rock 104, Radio City and BBC Radio 1.
For the last 9 years she has successfully worked as Programme Director for KISM, a classic rock station in Washington state, USA. KISM is part of the Cascade Radio Group and broadcasts to Seattle and into Canada.
Commenting on the appointment, Radio Nova CEO David Tighe said, “Carol Dooley is a proven ratings winner in a highly competitive market place, she will shake up the Dublin radio scene. I know she will deliver an exciting new radio experience for Dublin and beyond. Carol will bring all the knowledge she has gained in Ireland, the UK and the US and will make sure Radio Nova is a radio station that listeners will want to be a part of for many years to come”.
Carol Dooley will join Radio Nova in June and team up with Radio Nova programme consultant Jeff O Brien who has a wealth of radio experience having worked with, amongst others, Radio 2000 Ltd (98FM), Scottish Radio Holdings, EMAP and Capital Radio PLC in London
David Tighe concluded “We are bucking the trend with Nova 100, we are creating jobs here in Dublin when many jobs are being lost, we are bringing a talent like Carol back home from the USA when sadly many are leaving in the other direction, our talented and creative people in Ireland need some positivity, in our own way we are trying to give them some”
