PJ Gallagher is one of Ireland’s best-loved comedians and currently hosts Radio Nova’s Morning Glory with Jim McCabe.
In 2016 he stared in the hit movie The Young Offenders, which won an IFTA and Best Irish Film at the Galway Film Fleadh and went on to become an RTE/BBC TV series with PJ as Principal Walsh returning in 2023.
PJ is most widely known for the huge success of many characters in the hilarious and sometimes outrageous hit TV show Naked Camera, alongside his DVD of the same name, which received triple platinum sales. In 2008 he took his alter ego Jake Stevens to the US to film a series called Makin’ Jake. Additionally in 2011, he returned with another sketch show, Meet Your Neighbours, which was also produced into a DVD.
With appearances on The Late Late Show, The Miriam O Callaghan Show and Tubridy Tonight, as well as hosting The Great Big Surprise Birthday Party for RTÉ in 2012, PJ Gallagher’s Stage Fright documentary (RTÉ, 2015) and a hidden camera show called Trojan Donkey for Channel 4 in 2013, PJ has become one of Ireland’s most recognized comedians.
He is also a graduate of the Gaiety School of Acting and performed in the 2016 Dublin Theatre Festival in Alien Documentary, directed by Una McKevitt who he also worked with on Madhouse, based on his true life story, which premiered at the Dublin Fringe Festival in 2018.
Jim McCabe first paired with Irish comedian PJ Gallagher at Ireland’s Classic Hits, where they twice won the IMRO Breakfast Show of the Year. Jim can now be heard with PJ on Radio Nova’s Morning Glory which took home Gold at the 2022 IMRO Radio Awards for Community/Social Action, raising over €100,000 for The Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation.
Alongside, breakfast radio Jim is a regular face on Irish television seen on a number of documentary series, entertainment shows and sports broadcasts for RTE, Virgin Media One, UTV Ireland and Setanta Sports (now Eir Sports).
As well as being a very successful voice over artist featuring on numerous ads and programme narrations, Jim is an accomplished MC and event host. His warm and effortless professional style has seen him preside over all sorts of live events from Street Festivals to Awards Ceremonies.
Jim also holds a qualification in Sports Psychology which he combines with his vast performance experience to regularly speak and coach on topics such as the Psychology of Peak Performance, Leadership or Presentation and Communication for groups and businesses.
