A 40 minute interview with late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain has been released in full by MTV.
The clip which was originally used in the 1994 ‘rockumentary’ Nirvana: Past Present and Future features Cobain discussing his music, his daughter and his stomach problems. MTV has said that “it’s basically akin to having an intense, in-depth conversation with the ‘Lithium’ singer himself.”
The interview was released ahead of the US television premiere of Montage of Heck, a new documentary executively produced by Frances Bean Cobain about the life of the Nirvana frontman. It is due to be aired on HBO on May 4th.
“From the stomach issues that plagued him throughout his life to his dissatisfaction with the ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ video to his ruminations on how having Frances Bean changed him, this interview offers a wide-ranging look at Cobain long before he took his own life” said MTV.
MTV have also states that they plan to “roll out even more content from out vaults in honour of HBO’s newest documentary” over the next few days.
