Watch: Red Hot Chili Peppers Pay Tribute to Tom Petty

The Red Hot Chili Peppers paid tribute to Tom Petty during the Austin City Limits festival at the weekend.

The band, who headlined the festival, is the latest act to pay tribute to Petty. The musician died on 2nd of October after suffering a cardiac arrest. Since then, many artists have paid tribute to Petty both on stage and on social media.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers performed a cover of Funkadelic's "What is Soul?" and dedicated it to the late musician. Anthony Kiedis introduced the song by saying “Tom Petty, if you’re looking down, this one’s for you, brother. You did not die in vain.”

Guitarist Josh Klinghoffer also honoured Petty by performing "A Face In The Crowd" from his Full Moon Fever album. You can check out footage of Klinghoffer's cover below:
