Coldplay’s Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson have split up, just weeks after rekindling their romance, according to reports.
The couple have been together since 2017 a year after Martin’s divorce from his ex wife Gwyneth Paltrow, but had been reportedly enduring a rocky patch in their relationship over the last few months.
The pair first met through mutual friends, and had been engaged for some time.
“The couple got engaged a while ago and have kept the news private. But now they are being open about it with their circles”, a source said at the time. “They have been besotted with each other from day one so taking this next step was inevitable”.
Having initially split up in June, it was reported that the pair had got back together a few weeks ago.

According to a source, Martin and Johnson had been trying “desperately hard” to make their relationship work.
However, it would appear that the couple have now gone their separate ways.
“They’ll always have love for each other but they’ve both come to the conclusion the relationship cannot be sustained long-term… They wanted it to work but it just hasn’t, and they’ve now accepted it is best to move on”, a source said.
They also added that Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson are “busy people”, and their “personal priorities, passions and work commitments’ don’t ‘naturally intertwine with each other”.
Chris Martin is currently on tour across Europe with Coldplay, while Dakota Johnson has been promoting her upcoming movie, Materialists.
Speaking of Coldplay, it was reported that the band had reached a settlement with their former manager Dave Holmes.
Holmes had initially filed a lawsuit against the band over alleged “unpaid commission” for two yet-to-be released albums. More on this story from Nova here.
