Ringo Starr has revealed that he has never eaten curry or pizza.
The Beatles legend stated this during his guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, while promoting his new country music album, 'Look Up', an album which is also being produced by T-Bone Burnett.
This happened after Kimmel asked Starr if the rumours about him never eating a pizza were true, which Starr confirmed was correct, much to the audience's shock, before going on to reveal: "Or a curry", which led to further gasps of the audience.
Explaining this to the crowd, Ringo Starr said that he is "allergic to several items", adding that when it comes to pizza or curry: “you don’t know what the f***’s in it".
Insisting that it is not worth the risk, Starr also added: “I’m strict with myself since it makes me ill immediately".
At this point, Kimmel said to Starr: “I used to think you had the greatest life, and now I realise mine is better", to which Starr replied: “Yours is better because you’ve had a pizza".
As for the album, Ringo Starr first confirmed plans for its release back in October. The album sees Starr go back to his old roots of country music.
“I’ve always loved country music. And when I asked T Bone to write me a song, I didn’t even think at the time that it would be a country song – but of course it was, and it was so beautiful.” Ringo said. “I had been making EPs at the time and so I thought we would do a country EP -but when he brought me nine songs I knew we had to make an album! And I am so glad we did. I want to thank, and send Peace & Love, to T Bone and all the great musicians who helped make this record. It was a joy making it and I hope it is a joy to listen to", Starr said of the genre.
