It appears that Ringo Starr is set to release his much publicised country album soon.

This comes as the Beatles drummer shared a recent photo on Instagram, showing him wearing a cowboy hat, leaving many music fans to speculate that the upcoming country album release is imminent.

Check out this post for yourselves here.

Starr had confirmed a few months earlier that he was planning to return to country music, the genre which helped to define his career.

This upcoming country album is to serve as a follow up to Crooked Boy, which arrived earlier this year.

Ringo Starr’s connection to country music can be traced back to the 1970s, when he recorded Beaucoup of Blues in Nashville, which also featured covers  Buck Owen’s ‘Act Naturally’, as well as his track, ‘Don’t Pass Me By’.

Ringo Starr Is “working with someone very special”

Earlier this year, Ringo Starr had revealed that he had been working closely with American artist T Bone Burnett on this album.

“I’m working on it with someone very special – T Bone Burnett,” Starr said “He’s doing stuff in Nashville and he comes to L.A. and it’s all working out. He came to me with nine songs. It won’t be out until October, at least”.

On Beaucoup of Blues, the musician also added this.

“I think some of my finest vocals are on that album,” Starr has said, “because I was relaxed”.

Back in September, Starr was forced to cancel all remaining tour dates due to illness. Find out more here.
