Robbie Williams has reacted to his track 'Forbidden Road' being disqualified from the Oscars 2025's shortlist for the Best Original Song category.

Despite being originally included in the shortlist for Best Original Song at this year's ceremony, this decision was quickly overturned and was disqualified for including "material from an existing song that was not written" for the film.

According to the rules regarding eligibility, all shortlisted tracks must only feature lyrics and music that are “original and written specifically for the motion picture".

Williams' track includes excerpts from Jim Croce's 'I Got A Name', which was written by Norman Gimbel, and Charles Fox.

As a result, the track was disqualified from the shortlist.

"It's all good"

Speaking on the red carpet at the Golden Globes, Robbie Williams reacted to the news regarding his song's disqualification.

“Listen, the rules is the rules and you have to go by them. It would have been a nice, but also as an introvert, it’s another party I don’t have to go to. I went through it, I’m on the other side. It’s all good", he told reporters.

Forbidden Road features in Robbie Williams' recently released biopic, 'Better Man', which was arrived on cinema screens on St Stephen's Day. The film was directed by Michael Gracey.
