Robbie Williams has recorded an unlikely new rock song with Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi.

The former Take That singer has reportedly enlisted the signature guitar solos of Iommi on a new rock song called ‘Rocket’, which will appear on an upcoming “guitar rock” album.

The album is to also feature contributions from Supergrass’ Gaz Coombes.

Karl Brazil, Robbie Williams’ drummer, has let the cat out of the bag regarding this upcoming collaboration.

“fortunate enough”

In a recent interview, Karl Brazil spilled the beans regarding Robbie Williams’ new rock track, featuring Tony Iommi.

“He’s got an album to follow that we’ve been working on”, Brazil said. “He’s working with various people, but I’ve been fortunate enough to do some songs with him”.

He continued: “We’ve done a track called Rocket with Tony, which is very random. It’s great. It’s a rocker and really cool. Tony has done his thing on it”.

Robbie Williams Is “a modern day Elvis”

Elsewhere, Brazil who is also Robbie Williams’ music director, called the former Take That star “a modern day Elvis”.

“It’s predominantly a guitar record. Let’s face it, he can do what he wants”, he said.

Back in April, Robbie Williams had previously hinted that new music was on the way.

The singer had said that has  “written loads of songs” in a new interview, insisting that he is feeling more “ambitious” than ever before, and is excited about the future.

“I’ve got loads of plans. I’ve written loads of songs, I’ve got my film [Better Man] at the end of this year and I’m doing Hyde Park in the summer. I have never been busier, I’ve never been as ambitious as I am right now. I am full of purpose and I am loving life”, Williams said in an interview at the time.
