Robert De Niro has declared that he is an “80 year old dad and I am loving it”.
De Niro who has six children from three previous relationships with women, welcomed child number seven last May, with his partner and martial arts instructor Tiffany Chen.
The Hollywood actor spoke about becoming a father again at 80 years old, in a recent chat with the AARP, formerly the American Association of Retired Persons.
De Niro was also recently nominated for best supporting actor in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon at the upcoming Academy Awards.

Speaking to the AARP, De Niro said that he “wants to be around for as long as I can” for his new baby daughter, Gia.
“I’m an 80-year-old dad and it’s great”, De Niro said. “Everything that I’m consumed with or worried about or this and that just goes away when I look at her so that in itself is wondrous”.
“She has a very sweet kind of way of looking at you and just taking you in and my other daughter Helen had that too. (They) just look at you and take it in so I don’t know where it’s going with her later when she gets older”.
He added, “But she’s thinking and she’s observing everything and watching. It’s really interesting. I (want to) be around for as long as I can to enjoy it, enjoy her”.
As mentioned, De Niro has six other children from three previous relationships, including twin sons with actress Toukie Smith, a son and daughter with actress and socialite Grace Hightower, as well as adopting former partner Diahnne Abbot’s daughter from a previous relationship.
Abbot and De Niro also had a son together, Raphael De Niro, who starred alongside his father in the 1980 film Raging Bull.
Last December, Robert De Niro became embroiled in a war of words with former US President Donald Trump, who took aim at De Niro’s abilities as an actor, after De Niro had previously branded him a “charlatan”.
