13 food businesses were ordered to shut down last month.
The Food Safety Authority says it found a live rat in a food storage room, a dead rat in a kitchen, and an active cockroach infestation in a cold service unit storing uncovered food.
The authority says the number of closure orders in September is very concerning
Nine closure orders were served under the FSAI Act 1998, while four closure orders were served under the EU Regulations 2020.
The businesses are located in Cork, Dublin, and Tipperary.
